GATE 2027 Registration Requirements

GATE 2027: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has announced that candidates must create a DigiLocker account for the GATE 2027 examination. It is crucial for applicants to either create or update their DigiLocker accounts prior to the application window opening on August 14, 2026. The registration process will utilize DigiLocker, making it necessary for candidates to link their accounts to facilitate the retrieval of essential information for their applications.

Application Submission Process

Candidates will submit their applications through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). During registration, specific steps must be followed to access information from DigiLocker.

Linking Your DigiLocker Account

Steps to Link DigiLocker:

1. Navigate to the official GATE 2027 website: gate2027.iitm.ac.in.

2. A prompt will appear for retrieving information from DigiLocker.

3. Click on "Go To DigiLocker" and log in with your DigiLocker credentials.

4. Allow permission to share your information. The system will automatically gather details such as your profile picture, verified ID card number, email address, name, date of birth, mobile number, and address.

5. Continue with the GATE 2027 registration process starting August 14, 2026.

Required Documents for GATE Application

When applying for GATE, candidates must provide several details, including their college name and address, selected GATE test paper, and six preferred examination cities.

Documents Needed:

1. A high-quality photograph of the candidate, following specified guidelines.

2. A live photograph may be taken during registration; candidates should use a computer with a webcam or a smartphone with at least a 5 MP camera.
