Significant Revisions in Recruitment Criteria
Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has implemented substantial modifications to the recruitment regulations for the state police and India Reserve Battalion. The running requirements for the positions of Wireless Sub-Inspector and Constable have been relaxed. Previously, male candidates were required to complete a 10-kilometer run in 60 minutes, while female candidates had to run 6 kilometers; this distance has now been reduced.
According to the new guidelines, male applicants must complete a 1600-meter run in six minutes, and female applicants must finish the same distance in ten minutes. This proposal was approved during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, where a total of 18 proposals received approval.

Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel announced that the amendments to the recruitment rules for Wireless Sub-Inspector in Jharkhand State Police Radio and Constable in the India Reserve Battalion have been approved.
Previously, the government had granted similar relief for the position of Product Constable. She also mentioned that the state has approved an e-evidence and e-summon system for three new criminal laws, allowing investigators to upload images and videos from crime scenes via a mobile app, thereby enhancing the digital and transparent nature of the investigation process.

The meeting also confirmed that the winter session of the Jharkhand Assembly will begin on December 5 and continue until December 11. During this period, question hours, discussions on various bills, and other matters will take place. The victorious candidate from the Ghatshila by-election will also participate in the assembly for the first time.

The cabinet made several other significant decisions, including the annulment of Dr. Maithilisharan's dismissal following a High Court order, regularization of services for 24 contractual employees under the World Bank-supported Polytechnic Education Project, establishment of STEM labs in district Schools of Excellence, and granting benefits of the old pension scheme to teachers of the Netarhat School Committee.
After the meeting, Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed pride as Jharkhand enters its 25th year of establishment. He urged the youth to actively contribute to the state's development and affirmed the government's commitment to elevate Jharkhand to new heights.
