JEE Main Session-2 Exam Details: Dates, Verification Process, and Guidelines
Overview of JEE Main Session-2 Examination
The National Testing Agency has officially started the JEE Main Session-2 examination. This assessment will take place at various centers nationwide, with an estimated 11.23 lakh candidates expected to participate. The B.E./B.Tech exams are set for April 4, 5, 6, and 8, 2026, while the B.Arch/B.Planning (Paper-2) will occur on April 7. The exams will be conducted in two shifts: the first from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the second from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Candidate Verification Process
**Four-Step Verification Process**
Candidates will undergo a comprehensive four-step verification on exam day. The first step involves confirming their left thumb impression and signature on the admit card printout. The second step includes both manual and biometric checks (photo and fingerprint) at the entrance. The third step features an AI-based facial recognition scan, along with recording the candidate's mother's name and signature on the attendance sheet. Lastly, for the fourth step, any student needing to use the restroom during the exam must complete another biometric verification upon returning.
Timeliness is Key
**Aim to Arrive on Time**
Candidates are strongly encouraged to arrive at the examination venue well in advance. Specifically, it is recommended that they reach the center at least one hour before the time indicated on their admit card.
Permitted Items at the Examination Center
**Items Allowed**
Students taking the B.Arch Paper-2 are allowed to bring a geometry box, pencils, erasers, and crayons. They may also carry a transparent water bottle. Diabetic candidates can bring sugar tablets and fruits.

On the examination day, candidates are not allowed to bring watercolors, watches, calculators, geometry sets (except for B.Arch Paper-2), jewelry, or any food and beverage items.

All candidates must bring essential documents on exam day, including their Admit Card, two passport-sized photographs, and a valid ID proof. If the live photograph taken at the venue does not match the one on the Aadhaar Card, a certificate attested by a Gazetted Officer is required.
