JEE Main 2027: New Application Submission Allowed for Candidates
Important Update for JEE Main 2027 Applicants
Candidates preparing for JEE Main 2027 (Session 1) have received positive news. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced a provision allowing applicants who made mistakes in their forms to submit a new application. This option is also available to those who have already received an application number or paid the exam fee. However, it is crucial for candidates to thoroughly review the associated rules and deadlines before submitting a new form. Please note that any fees paid for the previous application will not be refunded or credited towards the new application.
Steps to Correct Application Errors
The NTA's decision comes in response to numerous requests from candidates regarding errors in their JEE Main 2027 (Session 1) applications. If candidates discover mistakes in their initial submissions, they can now file a new application. Those choosing to do so must re-enter all necessary information and upload their photograph, signature, and other required documents. After submitting the new application, candidates will receive a distinct application number.
Validity of Applications
The NTA has stated that an application will only be deemed valid if the examination fee has been successfully paid and a confirmation page has been generated. If a candidate submits a new application but does not pay the fee or fails to receive a confirmation page, their original application will remain valid.
Key Dates for JEE Main 2027 Applications
Candidates should be mindful of the following important deadlines:
1. **November 22, 2026**: Last date to submit an application and pay the examination fee (without late fee) by 11:50 PM.
2. **November 23 to 26, 2026**: New applications can be submitted with a late fee until 11:50 PM on the final day.
3. **November 27 to 29, 2026**: A correction window will be open for making limited changes to the application.
No Refund for Previous Fees
The NTA has emphasized that fees paid for earlier applications will not be refunded. Additionally, these fees cannot be applied to the cost of a new application. Therefore, candidates who only need to amend specific details are encouraged to utilize the 'correction window' instead of submitting a new application.
Consequences of Submitting Multiple Applications
Submitting multiple applications does not entitle a candidate to take the examination multiple times in the same session. Attempting to appear for the exam using different application numbers may result in penalties under the rules regarding 'unfair means.' However, simply having multiple application numbers, without using them to take the exam, will not be considered a violation.
