The JEE Advanced 2026 examination took place on May 17 at various centers nationwide. This year, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee was responsible for organizing the exam. With the exam now completed, numerous students are eagerly anticipating the release of the answer key, response sheets, and results. JEE Advanced is known as one of the toughest engineering entrance tests in India, acting as a gateway for students aiming to gain admission to prestigious IITs. IIT Roorkee Announces Important Dates

Following the exam's conclusion, IIT Roorkee shared crucial dates related to the next steps in the process. The institute has made available the timeline for the release of response sheets, provisional answer keys, final answer keys, and results on its official website. This information will aid students in preparing for the upcoming phases and navigating the counseling process.


Response Sheets Release Date

Candidates who participated in JEE Advanced 2026 can expect their response sheets to be available on May 21, 2026, at 5:00 PM. These sheets will allow students to review the answers they selected during the exam. The provisional answer key will follow, set to be released on May 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM.


Students wishing to contest any specific question or answer can submit their objections through the online feedback portal from May 25 to May 26, 2026, until 5:00 PM. After reviewing all objections, the final answer key will be published on June 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM.


Results Announcement

The results for JEE Advanced 2026 are slated for release on June 1, 2026. On this date, the category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) will also be announced. The ranks will be determined based on the total scores achieved in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. High-ranking students are expected to show significant interest in branches like Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Electronics.


AAT Exam for B.Arch Aspirants

Students aiming for admission into the B.Arch program at IITs must take the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT). This test is essential for B.Arch admissions at institutions such as the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Roorkee. Registration for the AAT will occur on June 1 and 2, with the exam scheduled for June 4, and results to be announced on June 7.


JoSAA Counseling Process

After the results are declared, the JoSAA counseling process will begin. This process is crucial for seat allocation across IITs, NITs, and other participating institutions. Students will need to submit their preferences for colleges and academic branches online. Seat allotment will depend on factors such as rank, category, and seat availability. To gain admission to an IIT, students in the General Category must achieve at least 75 percent in their Class 12 exams, while the threshold for SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories is set at 65 percent.
