Unfortunately, these important documents can be lost due to various reasons, such as relocating or improper storage. If you find yourself in this situation, there's no need to worry. Educational boards and universities have provisions for issuing duplicate marksheets. Here’s a detailed guide on how to proceed.

Step 1: File a Police Report

The first action to take upon realizing your marksheet is missing is to visit your local police station and file a First Information Report (FIR) or a Daily Diary Report. Make sure to mention the class and year of the lost marksheet. This report is crucial for your application process, so keep a copy for your records. Additionally, you will need to prepare an affidavit on ₹10 stamp paper, declaring that your marksheet is lost and that you are applying for a duplicate. This affidavit serves as legal proof of your claim.

Step 2: Use the DADS Portal for CBSE

For those who completed their Class 10 or 12 under the CBSE board, the process has been streamlined with the introduction of the Duplicate Academic Document System (DADS) online portal.
