Extended Deadline for CLAT 2026 Applications Announced

The Consortium of National Law Universities has extended the application deadline for CLAT 2026 to November 7, 2025. This change provides candidates additional time to apply for the Common Law Admission Test, which is crucial for admission into various law programs across the country. The exam is set to take place on December 7, 2025. Students preparing for board exams in early 2026 can also apply, given they meet the necessary requirements. Important Update on CLAT 2026



CLAT 2026: The Consortium of National Law Universities has announced an extension for the submission of online applications for the Common Law Admission Test. Candidates now have until November 7, 2025 (Friday) to apply, an extension from the previous deadline of October 31. Interested applicants can complete their registration by visiting the official website.


Exam Date for CLAT 2026


The CLAT exam is scheduled for December 7, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM. This examination is essential for admission into undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs at 25 National Law Universities (NLUs) nationwide. Numerous affiliated colleges and institutions also recognize CLAT scores.


The Consortium has confirmed that admissions for all 5-year integrated LLB and LLM programs for the 2026–27 academic session will solely rely on CLAT 2026 results.


Eligibility Criteria


Students who will be taking board exams in March–April 2026 are eligible to apply for CLAT 2026, provided they can present proof of passing their qualifying exams during the admission process.

Application Fees for CLAT 2026


The application fees for CLAT 2026 are categorized as follows:



  • General, OBC, and NRI candidates: ₹4,000

  • SC, ST, BPL, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD): ₹3,500


Additionally, a set of previous years' CLAT question papers can be purchased separately for ₹500, which is not included in the application fee. There have been requests from student representatives and candidates for the Consortium to consider reducing the application fees and reassessing the fee structure.


Steps to Apply



  1. Visit the official website.

  2. Click on the "CLAT 2026 Registration" link and register by providing your mobile number, email ID, and name.

  3. Log in using your credentials.

  4. Fill in your personal details, educational qualifications, and select your course (UG/PG).

  5. Upload scanned passport-size photographs, signatures, and any other required documents.

  6. Pay the application fee online according to your category.

  7. Verify all information before submitting the form and print a copy for your records.
