Delhi University Mop-Up Round 2025

Overview: Approximately 7,000 seats remain unfilled in the undergraduate programs for the academic year 2025-26 at Delhi University (DU). To address this, a mop-up round has been initiated, attracting 21,000 applicants seeking admission. Colleges began offering seats on Monday, with the process continuing until September 11, marking the final opportunity for students to enroll in regular colleges.

Recently, DU announced this mop-up round to fill the remaining vacancies. Notably, the CUET score is not a requirement for this admission process; instead, students will be evaluated based on their 12th-grade marks. Colleges are allocating seats solely based on these marks. Earlier, on September 4, DU disclosed the availability of vacant seats across various courses, including science disciplines.

Reserved category students have more options available compared to those in the general category. According to DU Admission Dean Prof. Haneet Gandhi, students were required to apply for these vacant seats between September 4 and 7. Currently, around 7,000 seats are open across different courses, with 21,000 applications received.

Important Deadline: Students must accept the offered seats and pay the required fees by September 13. Colleges are tasked with filling these seats during this round. Prof. Gandhi emphasized that this is the final opportunity for students to secure admission. Following this, the undergraduate admission process, which commenced in June, will conclude.

The undergraduate session at DU began over a month ago on August 1, coinciding with the start of classes. DU has clarified that students may receive multiple seat allotments; however, they can only accept one. If a student is offered multiple seats simultaneously, they must choose one and proceed with the payment accordingly.
