Delhi University ECA Quota Admissions for 2026-27: Key Details
Overview of DU Admission ECA Quota
DU Admission ECA Quota: The registration for undergraduate admissions at Delhi University for the 2026-27 academic year is currently in progress through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). Students interested in applying under the Extra-Curricular Activity (ECA) quota must submit a separate application in addition to their general application.
This year, the university has expanded the number of seats available under the ECA quota. A total of 1,370 seats are now offered across 14 different activities, an increase from approximately 1,345 seats last year. This enhancement aims to facilitate more admissions under this category. The selection process for ECA admissions will involve trials and the evaluation of certificates.
Participation in the trials is compulsory. Prof. Deepti Taneja, the ECA admission convener, confirmed that the number of ECA seats has increased this year. The admissions will follow the guidelines established in the previous year, with no alterations to the quota's regulations. Students should be aware that failing to attend the trial will lead to their disqualification from the admission process.
The registration for this quota is currently ongoing. Students must upload their certificates to the CSAS portal during the registration phase; those who do not upload valid certificates will not be invited for trials.
ECA Merit List Preparation
How will the ECA merit list be prepared?
Only certificates dated between May 1, 2023, and April 30, 2026, will be deemed valid. Students can upload a maximum of five certificates, with points awarded based on the best three. Even if a student has only one certificate, it can still be submitted.
A distinct merit list will be created for the ECA category. For general ECA categories, 25% of the weightage will come from the CUET score, while 75% will be derived from certificates and trials. In contrast, for the NSS and NCC categories within the ECA quota, 75% of the weightage will rely solely on certificates, with 25% based on the CUET score. No trials will be conducted for the NSS and NCC categories; evaluation will be based exclusively on certificates. Students in these categories must also upload five certificates.
