CBSE Extends Deadline for Class 12 Answer Sheet Scans
CBSE Board 2026: Important Update for Class 12 Students
CBSE Board 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education has provided significant relief to Class 12 students by extending the deadline for obtaining scanned copies of evaluated answer sheets. Students can now apply online at cbse.gov.in until midnight on May 25, 2026.
New Deadline for Scanned Answer Sheet Requests
Initially set for May 22, the deadline was pushed back due to heavy traffic on the portal and technical issues that hindered students from completing their applications. The portal frequently crashed, and payments were deducted without successful submissions. In light of these challenges, CBSE extended the deadline first to May 23, then to May 24, and now to the final date of May 25 at midnight.
Concerns Raised by Students and Parents
Numerous students and parents reported difficulties in filling out the forms despite multiple attempts over several hours. Even after payments were made, many applications remained incomplete. These complaints prompted the board to extend the deadline.
Education Minister Requests a Report
The Education Minister has requested a comprehensive report on the situation. Additionally, instructions have been given to government banks to assist students in resolving payment-related issues.
When Will Re-evaluation Begin?
CBSE clarified that the re-evaluation and answer sheet verification process will commence separately after the scanned copies are made available. A separate notification will be issued for this purpose. The board urges all students to complete their applications before the deadline of May 25 at midnight.
How to Apply
To apply:
1. Visit the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in.
2. Select the option for Answer Sheet/Scanned Copy.
3. Fill in your roll number, school number, and other required details.
4. Submit the fee online.
5. Submit your application and ensure to take a printout.
Advice for Students
Students who have not yet applied are encouraged to try today or tomorrow night. The portal may function more smoothly late at night when traffic is lower. Before submitting the fee, double-check all details. This decision brings relief to thousands of students who wish to review their answer sheets or prepare for re-evaluation. Students have appreciated CBSE's responsiveness to their concerns.
