Deadline Extension for Scanned Answer Sheets

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced an extension of one day for students to request scanned copies of their evaluated Class 12 board examination answer sheets. This decision comes after students faced technical difficulties on the CBSE website. The new deadline is now set for 11:59 PM on May 25, moving from the original date of May 24.

Technical Glitches Affecting Applications

Numerous technical problems emerged as students attempted to apply for their scanned answer sheets. These issues led to inconsistencies in fee deductions, with some students being overcharged while others were undercharged due to system errors.

Portal Issues Since May 19

Students reported that the technical difficulties began on May 19, coinciding with the start of the application process. Many candidates expressed frustration as they were unable to finalize their applications despite successful payment confirmations. Additionally, the website frequently crashed, preventing users from moving past the "Preview & Confirmation" stage.

Upcoming Re-evaluation Process

The CBSE has indicated that details regarding the re-evaluation application process will be shared soon. The re-evaluation portal is expected to remain open for at least two days after the scanned copies are made available. Students are encouraged to apply promptly and not to wait until the last moment.

Refunds for Incorrect Fee Charges

The Board has confirmed that students who were overcharged will receive refunds through the same payment method used for their transactions (such as UPI or credit card). Those who were charged less will receive specific instructions on how to pay the remaining balance. Importantly, all affected students will receive their scanned answer sheets without needing to submit a new application.

Revised Fee Structure

This year, the CBSE has significantly reduced the fees associated with obtaining scanned copies. The cost has dropped from ₹700 to ₹100. Similarly, the verification fee has been lowered from ₹500 to ₹100, while the re-evaluation fee is now set at ₹25 per question.

CBSE's Assurance to Students

In an official statement, the CBSE reassured students and parents that there is no cause for alarm. The Board committed to addressing all legitimate concerns regarding scanned copies, evaluations, or re-evaluations through established procedures involving subject experts.

The Board also acknowledged that the portal faced heavy traffic due to a surge in applications, which contributed to the technical issues. Continuous efforts are being made to enhance the system and rectify these problems.
