Overview of CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation Results

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently announced the re-evaluation results for Class 12 students. This announcement has led to notable changes in the scores of numerous students, with many experiencing an increase in their marks. As a result, the rankings for the top performers in the CBSE Class 12 exams have also shifted significantly. Students from Jharkhand have emerged as the leading achievers across all three academic streams following these re-evaluation results.

Among the standout performers is Avni Kejriwal from Ranchi, who achieved a remarkable perfect score of 500 out of 500, making her the All-India topper and the leading student in the Commerce stream. Additionally, Aditya and Bhavya have also claimed top positions in the Science and Arts streams, respectively.

Understanding the CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation Process

This year, CBSE implemented the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for evaluating Class 12 answer sheets. However, this system sparked controversy when students requested scanned copies of their answer sheets. Many students reported issues such as unclear images and perceived unfair marking, with some alleging that their answer sheets had been mixed up. In response, the Central Government has formed a committee to investigate the OSM tender process.

In light of the OSM controversy, CBSE initiated a re-evaluation process for the Class 12 answer sheets, the results of which have recently been released. Many students benefited from increased marks during this re-evaluation, leading to changes in the topper rankings.

Avni Kejriwal: All-India Topper with Perfect Score

Following the re-evaluation results, Avni Kejriwal from Ranchi has emerged as the All-India topper, achieving a perfect score of 500 out of 500. Her marks increased by 24 points during the re-evaluation, allowing her to surpass Priya Babulal from Bokaro, who previously held the top position with a score of 99.41%. Avni's remarkable achievement highlights her dedication and hard work.

Science Stream Toppers: Aditya and Sakshi

In the Science stream, Aditya Mishra from Bokaro has claimed the top position, sharing it with Sakshi Goyal from Kanpur. Both students achieved an impressive score of 99.60% in their Class 12 exams. Aditya initially scored 99.20%, but his mark in Biology improved by 3 points during re-evaluation, enhancing his overall ranking. He is currently a student at DPS Bokaro.

Bhavya Ranjan: Consistent Performer in Arts Stream

Bhavya Ranjan has secured the top position in the Arts stream of the CBSE Class 12 exams. A resident of Ranchi, she took her exams at Oxford Public School and achieved a score of 99.8%, which remained unchanged after the re-evaluation. As no Arts stream students saw changes in their results, Bhavya retains her top ranking.

Pending Re-evaluation Results May Affect Rankings

While CBSE has released the re-evaluation results for Class 12, many students are still awaiting their outcomes. The board has indicated that results have been announced for 87% of the students who applied for re-evaluation, with the remaining results yet to be disclosed. This situation suggests that the topper rankings may continue to evolve as more results are finalized.
