Exam Overview


New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting the Class 12 Accountancy examination today, February 24. The exam will take place in a single session from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Students are required to arrive at their examination centers by 9:30 AM. A 15-minute window from 10:15 AM to 10:30 AM will be provided for students to read the question paper. Officials have made it clear that no entry will be allowed after the gates close at 10 AM.


Exam Pattern

The Class 12 Accountancy exam consists of a theoretical section worth 80 marks and a practical or project component worth 20 marks, totaling 100 marks. Students are advised to reach the exam center at least 30 to 45 minutes early to ensure a smooth process. Entry into the examination hall will not be permitted after the scheduled time. It is mandatory for candidates to bring their CBSE-issued admit card to the exam center, as students without a valid admit card will not be allowed to sit for the exam.


Question Paper Distribution

Question papers and answer sheets will be distributed 15 minutes before the exam begins. During this time, students should carefully read the question paper and fill in the necessary details on the answer sheet.


Avoiding Common Mistakes in the CBSE Accountancy Paper 2026

Students should exercise caution to avoid calculation errors, especially in topics like goodwill adjustment and share forfeiture. It is essential to include appropriate details in journal entries as needed. Additionally, final answers should be clearly boxed, and well-organized working notes should be presented with correct references.


Permitted and Prohibited Items

Candidates appearing for the Accountancy board exam must ensure they have their CBSE admit card and a valid school ID. They are also required to bring necessary stationery such as blue or black ballpoint pens, pencils, erasers, and a transparent geometry box. Students may carry a transparent water bottle as well.


However, they are not allowed to bring any electronic devices, including mobile phones, smartwatches, or calculators. Written notes, papers, or slips are strictly prohibited inside the examination room.

This year, approximately 10.2 lakh boys and 8.3 lakh girls will be taking the Class 12 board exams. The CBSE Class 12 Accountancy board exam is scheduled to be held today from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Students must carry their admit cards to the examination center.
