CBSE Addresses On-Screen Marking Controversy with Security Enhancements

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has responded to the ongoing On-Screen Marking controversy by enhancing security measures. The Board has deployed cybersecurity experts to address vulnerabilities in the 'OnMark' portal and has rectified previously identified issues. CBSE has also expressed gratitude to ethical hackers and citizens who reported these vulnerabilities and has opened a channel for public suggestions. Clarification on On-Screen Marking Issues



In light of the ongoing debate regarding On-Screen Marking (OSM), the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has provided an update. The Board announced on the social media platform 'X' that it is actively monitoring the reported vulnerabilities associated with the 'OnMark' portal managed by its service provider.


CBSE has deployed a specialized team of cybersecurity experts from various government sectors and IITs to enhance the security of these systems. This effort includes transitioning to a more secure infrastructure.


The Board confirmed that previously identified vulnerabilities have been addressed. Furthermore, investigations are ongoing to uncover and mitigate any additional potential weaknesses that could be exploited.


Acknowledgment to Ethical Hackers

CBSE has expressed its appreciation to ethical hackers and observant citizens for their contributions. The Board stated, "We are thankful to all vigilant citizens and ethical hackers who highlighted these vulnerabilities." They have also reached out to some of these individuals for further collaboration.
