CAT 2026 Registration Details

The registration for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 has officially begun. Interested candidates can apply through the designated official website. The last date for submitting applications is September 15, 2026, by 5:00 PM.

Eligibility Criteria for CAT 2026

Candidates wishing to register for CAT 2026 must possess a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution. Those in the General, EWS, and OBC categories need a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the requirement is at least 45%. Additionally, final-year students or those awaiting results can also apply. Professional qualifications such as CA, CS, CMA, or ICWAI are also accepted.

Application Fee and Exam Schedule

This year, the application fee has seen an increase. General, EWS, and OBC candidates must pay ₹2,700, while SC, ST, and PwD candidates will pay ₹1,350. This fee is applicable regardless of the number of IIM programs chosen. The CAT 2026 exam is scheduled for November 29, 2026, and will be conducted in a computer-based format across approximately 170 cities in three shifts. During registration, candidates will select five preferred exam cities, and if those are full, an alternative nearby city will be assigned.

Admit Card and Result Timeline

Candidates can download their CAT 2026 admit cards starting November 4, 2026. The results are expected to be announced in the first week of January 2027. The scores from CAT 2026 will remain valid until December 31, 2027, and will be used for admissions to IIMs and other prominent management institutions.
