Important Voter List Information for Bihar Residents

In Bihar, individuals whose names are absent from the voter list, even after its final publication, can still register by completing Form-6. This can be done through both online and offline methods.

As preparations ramp up for the Bihar Assembly elections, the State Election Department has issued a crucial update regarding the voter list. Citizens who find their names missing can still have them added.

To initiate this process, applicants must fill out Form-6 and submit it to their local Booth Level Officer (BLO). The procedure has been designed to be straightforward and transparent, allowing for both online and offline applications.

Election Commission Guidelines

Per the Election Commission's regulations, applications will be accepted until eight days prior to the nomination deadline. Once submitted, the application will be displayed on a notice board for public viewing for seven days, allowing for any objections. If no objections arise during this timeframe, the returning officer will approve the name's inclusion on the eighth day, enabling the voter to participate in the elections.

Notices Issued to Voters

Additionally, notices have been dispatched to around three lakh voters in the state who have failed to submit necessary documents. They are required to provide these documents within the specified timeframe; otherwise, their names will be excluded from the final list.

Removal of Names from the Voter List

The Election Commission has also indicated that during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, names of deceased individuals, those who have moved, and duplicate entries will be automatically removed from the final voter list. This initiative aims to maintain a clean and fair voter list, ensuring transparency in the electoral process.

This action by the Commission is seen as a relief for those whose names were previously omitted for various reasons. The Commission urges citizens to complete Form-6 promptly to secure their participation in the democratic process.
