Bihar Police Sub-Inspector Preliminary Examination Results


Announcement of Results: The Bihar Police Sub-ordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has officially released the results for the Preliminary Examination of the Bihar Police Sub-Inspector (SI) for the year 2026. Candidates who participated in the exam can access the merit list by visiting the Commission's official website.


A total of 31,876 candidates have successfully qualified for the next phase of the selection process.


Details of the Examination

The results are available in PDF format, listing the roll numbers of candidates selected for the Main Written Competitive Examination. This recruitment initiative aims to fill 1,799 Sub-Inspector positions within the Home Department (Police Branch) of the Bihar Government.


Candidate Participation:
According to the Commission, this recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. 05/2025, published on September 23, 2025.


Out of 1,036,702 registered candidates, 726,231 appeared for the exam, which took place in two shifts on January 18 and January 21, 2026.


Disqualification Statistics

During the examination, 29,272 candidates were disqualified for various reasons, including:



  • Misconduct: 14 candidates


  • Incorrect Roll Number on OMR Sheet: 14,591 candidates


  • Incorrect Entry of Question Booklet Number: 9,992 candidates


  • Failure to Sign on OMR Sheet: 529 candidates


  • Failure to Write Hindi Paragraph: 1,139 candidates


  • Failure to Write English Paragraph: 2,851 candidates


  • Failure to Write Both Hindi and English Paragraphs: 156 candidates



After these exclusions, the answer sheets of 696,959 candidates were evaluated.


Selection for the Main Examination

In line with recruitment guidelines, candidates up to 20 times the number of vacancies in each reservation category have been shortlisted based on their Preliminary Examination performance. These candidates are now eligible for the Main Written Competitive Examination.
