PhD Admission Process at Allahabad University



As of September 25th, Allahabad University has initiated the application process for its PhD programs. Candidates interested in applying can do so by visiting the university's official site at allduniv.ac.in. The deadline for submitting the registration form is set for October 22nd. A notification regarding the PhD admissions has also been released, detailing the application process.


The university is offering a total of 873 PhD positions across 43 disciplines, with 534 seats available on the main campus and 339 in affiliated colleges. Notably, this year marks the first time that admissions will be based on UGC NET scores, replacing the previous Common Research Entrance Test (CRET) method used last year.

Application Fee Details

Application Fee:


The registration fee is ₹600 for candidates belonging to General, OBC, and EWS categories. For SC, ST, and differently-abled applicants, the fee is reduced to ₹300.


Selection Criteria for PhD Admission

Selection Process:


Admissions will be granted based on merit, which will be evaluated through academic qualifications. The scoring system allocates 120 marks in total: 70 marks for UGC NET scores, 20 marks for academic performance, and 30 marks for the Research Aptitude Test.
