Suraj Tiwari, a brave resident of Kaswa Kuravli in the Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh, has achieved an incredible feat by securing the 917th position in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2022, despite enduring a tragic accident in 2017 that resulted in the loss of both his legs and one hand. This remarkable achievement has brought immense joy not only to his family but also to his entire community.

Suraj's life took an unexpected turn on January 29, 2017 when he was involved in a train accident while returning from college in Delhi. The accident caused him to lose both his legs and his right hand, rendering him bedridden and completely dependent on his family members for several months. Not only did this tragedy rob him of his ability to walk and write, but it also plunged him into a state of despair and anguish, described by his family members as their darkest period.

However, Suraj realized that the only way for him to regain his shine was through unwavering determination and hard work. Despite his physical limitations, he managed to complete his graduation and is currently pursuing an MA in Russian at Jawaharlal Nehru University. Amidst the chaos of the Covid-19 pandemic, Suraj embarked on his journey to prepare for the UPSC exams.

Against all odds, Suraj successfully cleared the UPSC Prelims and Mains on his first attempt, although he fell short by a few marks in the interview. Undeterred, he persevered and, on his second attempt, triumphed by cracking the UPSC exam. Since the announcement of the results, his family and friends have been ceaselessly celebrating his well-deserved victory, serving as a testament to his indomitable spirit.

In other news, Ishita Kishore emerged as the top performer in the UPSC 2022 exam, with an impressive achievement. Notably, all four of the top positions were secured by talented young women. Ishita, a 26-year-old resident of Greater Noida and an alumna of Air Force Bal Bharti School, holds a degree in economics from Delhi University's prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce.

Ishita attributes her success to her prior experience as a corporate employee in Ernst & Young's risk consulting department. She acknowledges that her corporate career presented her with countless opportunities and laid the foundation for her achievements. However, her passion for public service and contributing to government and development remained unwavering throughout her journey.
