UPSC CSE 2024 Preliminary Exam Tomorrow: Important Guidelines to Remember

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is set to conduct the Civil Services Preliminary Examination (CSE) on June 16 across multiple centres nationwide, with over 44,000 aspirants gearing up for the test. Ahead of the examination, UPSC has issued crucial guidelines that candidates must adhere to on the exam day to ensure a smooth and fair conduct of the examination process.

 

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is set to conduct the Civil Services Preliminary Examination (CSE) on June 16 across multiple centres nationwide, with over 44,000 aspirants gearing up for the test. Ahead of the examination, UPSC has issued crucial guidelines that candidates must adhere to on the exam day to ensure a smooth and fair conduct of the examination process.

UPSC CSE 2024 Prelims: Exam Day Guidelines to Follow:

1. Admit Card Requirement:

  • Candidates must carry their e-admit cards to the examination centre. Those without the admit card will not be permitted to take the exam.

2. Photo ID Requirement:

  • Candidates should bring their photo IDs as per the number specified on the e-admit card.

3. Clarity of Photograph:

  • If the photograph on the e-admit card is unclear or lacks name and date, candidates must bring a photo identity card along with two passport-size photographs.

4. Discrepancies in Admit Card:

  • Any discrepancies in the e-admit card must be reported to the Commission immediately via email.

5. Gate Entry Timings:

  • Entry gates will close 30 minutes before the exam (9:00 am for morning session and 2:00 pm for afternoon session). No entry will be allowed after gates are closed.

6. Venue of Examination:

  • Candidates must appear for the exam at the venue mentioned on their e-admit card.

7. Prohibited Items:

  • Valuables, mobile phones, digital watches, and other prohibited items are not allowed inside the examination hall.

8. Disciplinary Action:

  • Bringing prohibited items may lead to disciplinary action, including cancellation of candidature and prohibition from future exams.

9. Items Allowed Inside Examination Hall:

  • Only essential items like e-admit card, pen, pencil, and identity proof are allowed inside the examination hall.

10. Use of Pen:

  • Black ballpoint pens are required to fill out the OMR sheet and attendance sheet.

11. Wristwatches:

  • Only simple wristwatches are allowed; smartwatches or communication-enabled watches are strictly prohibited.

12. Name Change:

  • Candidates who have changed their names post-matriculation must carry relevant documents for each exam session.
