Union Bank Selection Methodology & Written Exam Scheme
- Selection Strategy : For posts up to Scale III, the selection process may include an Online Written Examination, Group Discussion (if required), and a Personal Interview. For Senior posts (Scale IV, V, VI), selection is based on Group Discussion and/or a Personal Interview.
- Online Examination Pattern (Specialist Officers – Up to Scale III): Consists of a Professional Knowledge test with 50 multiple-choice questions for 100 marks, with a duration of 60 minutes.
- Online Examination Pattern (Post Codes G01 to G19 – Up to Scale III): Consists of Quantitative Aptitude (25 Qs/25 Marks), Reasoning (25 Qs/25 Marks), English Language (25 Qs/25 Marks), and Domain Professional Knowledge (50 Qs/100 Marks). Total: 125 Questions for 175 Marks (Duration: 120 minutes). Aptitude, Reasoning, and English sections are qualifying only.
- Sectional Qualifying Standards : Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for General/EWS and 35% for reserved category candidates in each section.
- Penalty for Wrong Answers : Negative marking is applied at 25% (one-fourth) of the marks assigned to that question. Unattempted questions carry no penalty.
- Personal Interview (PI) round: Carries a maximum of 100 marks. The minimum qualifying cutoff score is 50 marks for General/EWS and 45 marks for reserved category candidates. Candidates will be called in a 1:3 ratio.
- Service Indemnity Bond & Probation : Selected candidates will serve a probation period of 2 years. Executing a 3-year Service Indemnity Bond is mandatory (Rs. 2 Lakhs for General posts G01-G19, and Rs. 2.5 Lakhs for Specialist posts S01-S108).

How to Apply for Union Bank Officers Recruitment Online Form 2026
- Eligible and interested aspirants can register their application form online through the official Union Bank of India website between 21 July 2026 and 10 August 2026.
- Strict Application Rule: A candidate can apply for only ONE single post. In case of multiple registration attempts, only the last valid completed application form will be retained.
- Navigate to the ‘Recruitment’ page link under Careers and select the recruitment project portal titled “UNION BANK RECRUITMENT PROJECT 2026-27”. Click on “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE”.
- Choose the tab “Click here for New Registration” and provide your baseline contact details and personal email ID to generate system provisional registration number and password credentials.
- Fill in all fields of the application form carefully. Verify using the “Save & Next” or preview options before executing the final submission block, as no modifications can be executed after clicking “COMPLETE REGISTRATION”.
- Upload neat, visible scanned files: Photograph (20-50 KB jpg/jpeg format), digital signature with black ink pen (10-20 KB), Left Thumb Impression on white paper with black/blue ink (20-50 KB), and a Handwritten Declaration in English written strictly by the candidate’s own hand (50-100 KB). Candidates are also required to upload a captured live photograph.
- Deposit the mandatory application fees (Rs. 1180/- for General/OBC/EWS and Rs. 177/- for SC/ST/PwBD) using integrated credit cards, debit cards, net banking, IMPS, mobile wallets, or UPI gateways.
- Work Experience Proof Mandatory Rule: Original or digital experience certificates must be submitted strictly in the prescribed format (Annexure-II) under signatures of the competent authority at the Controlling/Head office level. Appointment letters, salary certificates, or pay slips will NOT be accepted in lieu of a work experience certificate. Candidates serving in government units must produce an original unconditional NOC during interview rounds.
