Age Criteria (As of June 1, 2026)



  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Maximum 30 Years

  • Assistant Professor & PhD: No Upper Age Limit

  • Relaxation: Up to 5 years for reserved categories and female candidates.



Essential Qualifications



  • Master's Degree: Minimum 55% marks required (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD).

  • Final Year Students: Eligible to apply under specific result timelines.

  • 4-Year Bachelor Degree: 75% marks holders eligible for JRF & PhD.



UGC NET 2026 Examination Layout




  • Paper 1: 50 Questions for 100 Marks (Aptitude & Research focus).
