Telegram channel administrator booked for hacking into MPSC hall ticket mechanism to mislead students

According to a Navi Mumbai police official, an administrator of a Telegram channel was recently arrested for allegedly leaking the hall tickets of the combined exams of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission.
 

According to a Navi Mumbai police official, an administrator of a Telegram channel was recently arrested for allegedly leaking the hall tickets of the combined exams of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission. The exams were scheduled for April 30. The Telegram channel, called 'MPSC 2023 A', reportedly gained access to the internal link provided to students to check their hall tickets and illegally obtained the data of 94,195 candidates. The administrator then made changes to the data to mislead students who were scheduled to appear for the exams.

The CBD Belapur police station official stated that efforts are currently underway to identify and arrest the accused. The official also mentioned that a case has been registered under Sections 43A (compensation for failure to protect data) and 43B (procedure of arrest) of the Information Technology Act, along with other provisions.
