In light of improved weather conditions, the Patna district administration has announced an extension of school hours by 45 minutes starting May 1. According to a notice from the office of the District Magistrate, both private and government schools will now be open until 11:30 AM.

As a result, the school schedule in Patna will be from 6:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Previously, District Magistrate Chandra Shekher Singh had reduced school hours from 11:30 AM to 10:45 AM due to the high temperature, which had risen above 43 degrees Celsius. This led to the reduction of the subject period from 45 to 30 minutes.

However, with the increase in school hours, the length of the learning periods will be adjusted accordingly, allowing for the timely completion of the syllabus. In recent days, the temperature has dropped in the district, and on Sunday, residents experienced rain and winds, bringing relief from the hot and humid weather.

The maximum temperature in Patna on Sunday was 36 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature was 24 degrees Celsius.
