In response to the escalating cold and dense fog, Gautam Buddh Nagar district has revised the opening hours of its schools. A recent order by District Basic Education Officer Rahul Panwar mandates all government and private schools, spanning nursery to 8th class, to commence operations from 10 a.m. This directive, effective from January 18, is aimed at mitigating the impact of severe weather conditions.

The issued order emphasizes strict adherence to the District Magistrate's directions. Considering the safety of students in the face of dense fog and extreme cold, classes for all schools in the district, from nursery to 8th grade, will initiate at 10 a.m. The directive encompasses both government and private educational institutions in the district.

Earlier, owing to the severity of the cold wave, an order was issued to keep all schools closed until January 16. With the improvement in conditions, schools in the district are set to reopen from January 17, operating under the revised timings.

In Agra, the prevailing cold conditions have led to the temporary closure of all schools catering to nursery to 5th-grade students until January 20. The decision aims to prioritize the safety and health of the younger student demographic.
Altered Timings for Higher Grades
Additionally, modifications have been made in the operational hours of schools catering to classes 6 to 12 in the district. These schools will now function from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., aligning with the evolving weather conditions.
