School Holiday Declared in Goa Today as IMD Forecasts Heavy Rains

In response to the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) prediction of heavy rainfall in Goa on Thursday, the Education Department of the state has declared a one-day holiday for schools.
 

In response to the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) prediction of heavy rainfall in Goa on Thursday, the Education Department of the state has declared a one-day holiday for schools. On Wednesday, Director of Education, Shailesh Sinai Zingade, issued a circular conveying this decision.

The circular stated, "Considering the continuous rain and the alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department's Goa center, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall and extremely heavy rainfall... the competent authority has decided to declare a holiday on 6th July 2023 for students from Std I to XII."
