On Thursday, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting the release of the Centre's pending share of Rs 730.81 crore for the Scheduled Tribes Post Matric Scholarship Scheme. The scheme requires an annual amount of Rs 400 crore in the state, with the Centre's share being Rs 300 crore.

Gehlot stated that in the financial year 2022-23, the state's demand for the scheme was Rs 380.26 crore, with the Centre's share being Rs 285.20 crore, of which only Rs 77.81 crore has been released. The outstanding amount is Rs 730.81 crore, including Rs 430.81 crore for the applications received in 2022-23 and the outstanding applications from previous years, and Rs 300 crore for the applications in 2023-24.
