According to a report by the National Testing Agency (NTA), there were no incidents of insensitive frisking at NEET-UG exam centres in Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai. The NTA conducted an internal inquiry and found that certain media reports and social media posts alleging such incidents were untrue.

The medical entrance exam NEET was held on Sunday at over 4,000 centres. The NTA investigated claims made in media reports that female candidates had their bra straps checked and were asked to change their attire in some cases. The NTA cross-checked with video footage and found that some of the claims were from previous years' tests.

Regarding the incident in Hooghly, the NTA report stated that a male candidate came in cargo trousers and formal covered boots against the dress code and was stopped by the frisking team and school team as he was arguing. However, he was later allowed to enter and no further problems arose. The NTA also stated that no student was asked to change their dress as reported by the observer and centre superintendent.

The NTA report also addressed the allegations coming from Sangli in Mumbai, where it was reported that female candidates were frisked in the open or were forced to change their clothes before taking the exam. The NTA's internal inquiry found that these allegations were also untrue. During frisking by a female attendant in a closed room designated for girls, a metal detector beeped in case of a girl candidate. The NTA report stated that after thorough frisking, a lady frisking representative requested the girl candidate to wear her top properly.
