The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at Jamia Millia Islamia is currently inviting applications for two short-term skill-based courses focused on electronics and drone production. These courses, namely Drone Manufacturing and Assembling Assistance, and Electronics Hardware Assembling, are being offered as part of the Prime Minister Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY 4.0) initiative. By participating in these courses, students will acquire knowledge and practical skills in these rapidly evolving industries.

Each course has a capacity of 30 seats, and admission will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligible candidates should have completed their 12th grade (10+2) with a scientific background, or possess a diploma in engineering or be enrolled in a B.Tech. or M.Tech. program. Individuals such as regular students, graduates, start-up founders in related fields, and working professionals looking to enhance their skill sets are welcome to enroll in these courses. In addition to these skill-based courses, Jamia Millia Islamia has also announced the introduction of a new Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree program in Social Work (BSW) starting from the academic year 2023–2024. The JMI Department of Social Work will manage this program. Interested applicants for the BSW program can submit their applications online through the Controller of Examinations, JMI website at jmicoe.in until June 24, provided they meet the eligibility requirements. From June 26 to June 27, candidates will have the opportunity to make corrections to their admission applications through the website.

The admission exam for the BSW program is scheduled to take place on July 15. To be eligible for the program, candidates must have achieved a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 55 percent in the Senior Secondary School Certificate examination conducted by a recognized board. The BSW program spans eight semesters and has a total of twenty available seats. The annual fee for the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Social Work program is Rs 7,200.
