According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature in Odisha is expected to rise until April 16, and in many places, it may touch 40 degrees Celsius by April 12. The Regional Meteorological Centre Scientist, Umasankar Das, has stated that the decline in thunderstorm activity will lead to an increase in the day's temperature by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in some places over the next few days. The IMD has predicted a small amount of rainfall in the southern region of the state, but heat spells will continue in other areas.
