The NEET UG examination was held on May 7, with a re-examination conducted on June 6 for students who couldn't participate due to the Manipur violence. In the event of a tie, where two or more candidates achieve the same score, specific tie-breaking rules will be implemented to assign ranks. The tie-breaking rules are as follows:

Biology Marks: Candidates with higher Biology grades will be given preference.
Chemistry Marks: If the tie persists after considering Biology grades, candidates with higher Chemistry scores will be selected.
Less Incorrect Questions: If the tie remains unresolved, the number of incorrect answers will be taken into account, and the candidate with fewer incorrect responses will be given priority.
Age Factor: If none of the above methods resolve the tie, the age of the candidates will be considered, and the older candidate will be given preference for merit ranking.

Once the results are declared, eligible students will be invited to participate in the counselling process. The NEET Counselling 2023 will be conducted online by the National Testing Agency through the website www.mcc.nic.in. The counselling procedure will consist of multiple stages to allocate 15% of All India Quota (AIQ) seats and 85% of state quota seats for admissions into various medical courses.
