The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to release the schedule for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG counselling 2023 on their official website mcc.nic.in. Although there is no official confirmation from the examination authorities, several reports suggest that the counselling session will likely commence in July. The NEET 2023 counselling process will be divided between the State Counseling Authorities, responsible for 85% of the State Quota seats, and the MCC, in charge of the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats.

For NEET UG 2023, a total of 20,38,596 candidates applied for the exam, out of which 11,45,976 have been shortlisted. The counselling process involves various steps such as registration, choice filling, option locking, seat assignment, seat assignment results, and reporting to designated colleges. The MCC NEET 2023 counselling system considers the NEET 2023 results to select students for admission to MBBS/BDS programs under AIQ, deemed institutions, and ESIC/AFMS colleges nationwide. Passing the NEET exam is a mandatory requirement for enrollment in these medical programs.

There are two types of NTA NEET counselling: All India counselling and State counselling. To participate in NEET UG 2023 counselling, candidates are required to submit certain documents, including the NEET UG 2023 Admit and Rank Card, a copy of the NEET UG 2023 Application, 10th Board Exam Marksheet and Pass Certificate, 12th Science Marksheet and passing certificate, Birth certificate, Category certificate (if applicable), Provisional allotment letter, a valid identity proof such as Aadhaar card, PAN card or passport, passport-size photographs, Domicile Certificate, and Migration Certificate.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, the Delhi Police apprehended four AIIMS medical students on suspicion of defrauding NEET applicants. Allegedly, the applicants paid these students Rs 7 lakh to hide their identities and appear on their behalf in the medical entrance exam. Naresh Bishroi, a second-year medical student at AIIMS, was identified as the leader of this gang. The Delhi police also detained Sanju Yadav, Mahavir, Jitendra, and Naresh Bishroi in connection with the incident. Further investigation is underway.
