JHTET Online Application 2026: Educational Requirements

















Class Eligibility
Primary Level Teachers (Class 1 to 5)



  • Candidates should have completed 10+2 (Intermediate) with a minimum of 50% marks (or 45% as per NCTE guidelines) and possess or be pursuing a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (BTC/D.El.Ed), a 4-year B.El.Ed, or a 2-year Diploma in Special Education. Alternatively, those with a Bachelor's degree and pursuing or completed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education are also eligible.
Upper Primary Teacher (Class 6 to 8)



  • Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications: a Bachelor's degree with or pursuing a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (BTC/D.El.Ed); a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% (or 45% as per NCTE rules) and B.Ed/L.T./Shiksha Shastri; or 10+2 with at least 50% and a 4-year B.El.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed; or a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% and B.Ed in Special Education; or a Master's degree with 55% marks and a 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed course.
