The most important platform has been prepared for implementing the new education policy in Uttar Pradesh from the session 2021-21. Students of all types of universities and colleges of the state will get all kinds of facilities through the state-level portal prepared in the name of ‘Abacus-UP’. Their degrees and mark sheets will also be available through this portal. Also, the option of changing the institute and taking re-admission after leaving the studies will also be available.

Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Monika S. Garg has issued a detailed order regarding the system to be operated through this portal. It said that the Union Education Ministry is running the National Academic Bank of Credit, which is a facility for A-grade institutions, Institutes of Excellence and other institutions of excellence for higher education. Most of the universities and colleges of the state do not come under this category. Under the new education policy, a state level Academic Bank of Credit has been developed to provide credit transfer, exit and re-entry facilities to the students of the state. Information about the infrastructure facilities, laboratories, equipment and teachers available in higher education institutions will be made available on this platform. A database of students seeking admission from the next academic session will also be prepared. It has been prepared in collaboration with NIC.

All state and private universities and state, aided and self-financed colleges of the state will register themselves by visiting this portal (http://abacus.upsdc.gov.in/). After registration, you will log in through OTP on mobile number and e-mail id. After login, you will submit by filling the desired information and details of your nodal officer. Responsibility for the operation and confidentiality of the portal will be with the Registrar in the University and the Principal in the colleges or the Nodal Officer nominated by him. Through this portal named Abacus-UP (Academic Bank for College and University Students-UP), students will get certificates, diplomas, degrees and mark sheets etc. on Digi-Locker.
