IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation and L&T EduTech, a digitally-driven learning initiative by Larsen & Toubro, have joined hands to provide industry skilling programs for engineering and science students across India. The aim is to offer students access to top academics and industry experts who can teach them fundamentals and concepts that are relevant to the industry.

The collaboration is targeting 25,000 students annually and intends to bridge the gap between academia and industry to make students ‘industry-ready.’ The partnership will also offer customized programs for professionals across the industry to enhance their skills and achieve career progression. Pravartak Technologies will leverage various engineering and science departments of IIT Madras, while L&T EduTech will provide industry expertise. Each course will offer conceptual learning, supported by engineering applications, to expose learners to both the fundamentals of engineering and industry-relevant knowledge derived from engineering practice. The details about the programs will be announced by the end of this month.

Mr. Sabyasachi Das, CEO of L&T EduTech, said that the partnership will help develop individuals who can scale the heights of their profession and lead us to a better world. Dr. M.J. Shankar Raman, CEO of IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, said that the programs will address the gap between academia and industry and will be implemented through Digital Skills Academy, led by Professor Emeritus Mangal Sunder, who has co-founded prestigious nationwide programs like NPTEL.
