IIM Kozhikode Announces Revised PGP Admission Policy for 2024-26 Batch

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has unveiled the revised admission policy for the 2024-25 academic year, providing aspiring management professionals with a clear roadmap for securing admission to its esteemed postgraduate programs. The revised policy introduces key changes to the selection process, emphasizing the importance of academic diversity and gender balance while maintaining a strong focus on the Common Admission Test (CAT) score.

Key Highlights of the Revised Admission Policy

  • CAT Score Weightage: The final weightage given to CAT scores has been reduced from 40% to 35%, reflecting a shift towards a more holistic evaluation of candidates' potential.

  • Gender Diversity Weightage: Gender diversity will now carry a 10% weightage in the admission process, promoting a more inclusive and equitable representation of genders in the student body.

  • Academic Diversity Weightage: Academic diversity will receive a 5% weightage, encouraging a diverse range of academic backgrounds among admitted students.

Three-Stage Selection Process

IIMK will adhere to a three-stage selection process for admissions to its postgraduate programs:

  • Stage 1: Registration Candidates who have opted for IIMK in their CAT 2023 applications and meet the minimum eligibility criteria will receive an email inviting them to register online. Only registered candidates will be considered for the subsequent stages.

  • Stage 2: Shortlisting The Aggregate Index Score (AIS) will determine the shortlisting of candidates. The AIS is calculated based on CAT scores, academic performance in classes 10 and 12, work experience, and gender/academic diversity.

  • Stage 3: Written Ability Test and Personal Interview Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Written Ability Test (WAT) and a Personal Interview (PI). The final merit list will be prepared based on CAT scores, WAT performance, and PI performance.

Application Timeline

  • CAT 2023 Exam: November 26, 2023

  • Release of Shortlist for Stage 2: Last week of January 2024

  • Conduct of WAT and PI: February-March 2024

  • Announcement of Final Merit List: Second week of May 2024
