According to police, a female assistant professor at a Gurugram university has filed a complaint of sexual harassment against Dhirender Kaushik, the Dean of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The complainant alleges that Kaushik has been sexually harassing her for the past four months. The police have registered an FIR against Kaushik under sections 354A (sexual harassment) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code at the women's police station in Sector 51.

The complainant claims that Kaushik pressured her to submit to his sexual advances, issued memos to her, and even physically abused her when she was late to class. Kaushik denies the allegations and instead blames the complainant's negligence at work for the memos he issued her. The complainant also alleges that Kaushik molested her when he called her to the clerk's room without reason, blocked the door, and threatened to get her terminated.

The police have recorded the complainant's statement under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. A probe is underway, and the accused will be served a notice to join the investigation. Notably, Kaushik has been booked for sexual harassment in 2018 when he was an assistant professor at Kurukshetra University, but the complainant later withdrew the allegations.
