According to the GATE 2024 Statistical and Performance Report released by IISc Bengaluru, here are the top 5 most popular branches based on candidate registrations:
- Computer Science and Information Technology: 152,652 registered candidates
- Civil Engineering: 108,136 registered candidates
- Mechanical Engineering: 83,114 registered candidates
- Electronics and Communication Engineering: 78,157 registered candidates
- Electrical Engineering: 73,728 registered candidates
The newly introduced Data Science and Artificial Intelligence paper also saw significant demand, with 52,493 candidates registering for GATE 2024.
