Education department will teach children by telling stories, started story series for children
Directorate of Education Jammu has started a story series for children of 3 to 9 years of age, in which children are being taught through stories. On the instructions of the Ministry of Education, the Education Department has started this series, on the first day of which four hundred children of the division and their parents participated on Saturday.
This initiative of the Department of Education has been taken to make the learning experience at the basic level of education holistic, integrated, inclusive, enjoyable and engaging. Directorate of Education Jammu in association with Eduview Foundation has organized a month long story series for children. Education Director Jammu Ravi Kant Sharma says that teaching children through storytelling will improve their mental development.
Children understand well from this what cannot be taught to them directly from books. This also keeps the interest of the children and they will not consider studies as a burden but entertainment. This will also help children to gain knowledge of vocabulary and grammar. This story series will be organized every Saturday which will be played online. On the first day, Anandi and Amita, resource persons of EzuVive Foundation, narrated interesting stories to the children, which were also well received by the children. Children were taught moral lessons through these stories.
Education Director Jammu Ravi Kant Sharma says that teachers are also being prepared for this. This one month series will also include teachers from Directorate of Education Jammu, who are teaching young children. This series is being organized under the leadership of Deputy Director Planning Mamta Sharma, in which Jaswinder Kaur, Convener of Pre-Primary Education, Jammu is collaborating. For this, technical assistance is being provided by UNICEF.
