The official date for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2024 has been announced by the Consortium of National Law Universities. As per the latest updates, CLAT 2024 will take place on December 3. This date was confirmed during the Executive Committee and Governing Body meeting of the Consortium of National Law Universities in Bhopal, as mentioned in an official notice. Further information regarding the CLAT syllabus, application procedure, and counselling process will be released soon.

CLAT is a national-level entrance examination for students aspiring to pursue undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law courses offered by 22 national law universities (NLUs) across India. The Consortium of National Law Universities, along with representative universities, conducts this entrance test. CLAT scores are also utilized for recruitment purposes in prestigious organizations. All admissions to the 5-year integrated Bachelor of Legislative Law (LL.B) and Master of Laws (LL.M) courses, commencing in the Academic Year 2024-2025, will be done through CLAT 2024.

Candidates planning to appear for the CLAT 2024 examination should note that a total of 150 questions will be asked from five exam sections. These sections encompass English, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, along with Legal Aptitude. It is advised that candidates commence their preparation for the CLAT 2024 examination promptly. The exam paper will consist of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and have a duration of 120 minutes.

Every year, more than 1 lakh students participate in the Common Law Admission Test. The CLAT 2023 exam was conducted on December 18 last year, with over 130 exam centers spread across the country. The results were declared on December 23. For the undergraduate program, students who have passed/cleared their Class 12 with a minimum of 45% marks (40% marks for SC and ST categories) are eligible to apply for admission to law courses in the 22 NLUs. As for postgraduate courses, candidates must have completed an undergraduate degree in law (either a 3-year or 5-year LLB course) with at least 50% aggregate scores to be eligible for the exam, whereas the minimum requirement for SC and ST candidates is 45%.
