The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to announce the results for Class 10 and 12 students soon. However, before CBSE could announce the official date, a fake notification claiming that the results would be declared on May 11 started circulating on social media.

The fake notice, which features the official CBSE logo and the signature of Director Joseph Emmanuel (Academics), instructs applicants to check their scores at cbse.gov.in and results.cbse.nic.in once they are out. The viral notice has caused confusion and concern among CBSE-affiliated students. The board has red-flagged and deemed the notification fake on its official Twitter handle. Despite this, the board has not commented on the actual date of declaration.

Students can check their results from the official websites of CBSE: cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in, cbse.nic.in, and cbse.gov.in. To pass the CBSE Board exam, students must score at least 33 per cent in each subject. This academic year, 38,83,710 students registered for the board exams, with 21,86,940 in Class 10 and 16,96,770 in Class 12. Additionally, students can access their results through the DigiLocker and UMANG applications.

The CBSE Class 10 exams took place from February 15 to March 21, and in 2023, 21.87 lakh students took them. In 2022, nearly 20 lakh students took the Class 10 board exams, which were conducted in two terms: Term 1 in November–December and Term 2 in May–June. The board announced the outcome only after combining the scores for both terms. The overall pass rate in 2022 was 94.40 per cent, which is higher than the pass rates of 91.46 per cent in 2020 and 91.10 per cent in 2019.
