Breaking News: SSC Expands CAPF Constable GD Exam Accessibility with 13 Languages

In a significant move towards inclusivity and language diversity, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced that the Constable (GD) examination for recruitment in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) will now be conducted in 13 regional languages alongside Hindi and English. This groundbreaking decision aims to increase local youth participation in the exam and promote regional languages across the nation.

 

In a significant move towards inclusivity and language diversity, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced that the Constable (GD) examination for recruitment in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) will now be conducted in 13 regional languages alongside Hindi and English. This groundbreaking decision aims to increase local youth participation in the exam and promote regional languages across the nation.

Key Details:

  1. Exam Dates and Locations:

    • The examination will take place from February 20 to March 7, 2024.
    • It will be conducted in 128 cities across the country.
  2. Languages Included:

    • Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Urdu, Punjabi, Manipuri, and Konkani.
  3. Objective:

    • Increase participation of local youth in the CAPF GD constable exam.
    • Promote and preserve regional languages.

SSC's Role:

  • The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Constable GD examination annually.
  • This year, an MoU has been signed between SSC and the Ministry of Home Affairs to facilitate the examination in the 13 regional languages.

Government's Initiative:

  • The decision aligns with the government's vision of inclusivity and empowerment.
  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah have provided guidance and support for this initiative.

Official Notice:

  • As per the official notice by PIB, the Ministry of Home Affairs decided to conduct the exam in 13 regional languages from January 01, 2024.
  • This initiative offers the youth a golden opportunity to pursue a career in the service of the Nation in their mother tongue.
