The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) teacher recruitment exam conducted on Friday, March 15, 2024, may face cancellation amid allegations of paper leak. An investigation by the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) has revealed startling findings, indicating a pre-exam leak of question papers.
Allegations and Investigation:
According to reports, a well-organized group allegedly leaked the question papers to candidates ahead of the BPSC TRE 3 exam. The EOU, with the assistance of Jharkhand Police, conducted raids in Hazaribagh, uncovering incriminating evidence. It was found that candidates possessed question papers identical to those scheduled for the BPSC exam.
EOU Findings:
The EOU's preliminary report suggests significant irregularities in the BPSC teacher recruitment exam. It alleges that candidates were charged hefty sums, up to ten lakh rupees, for access to leaked question papers. Additionally, written evidence corroborating the deal has been obtained by the EOU, as per media reports.
Revelations from Interrogations:
During interrogations, accused individuals implicated in the paper leak revealed shocking details. They confessed to procuring question papers for the third phase of the teacher recruitment exam on March 14, a day before the scheduled examination date. The organized group printed copies of the question papers and coached candidates in hotels, facilitating cheating.
Call for Investigation:
Student leader Dilip Kumar has demanded a thorough investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the BPSC paper leak case. He asserts that answers to questions from the exam's second set for classes 1 to 5 were circulating on social media platforms prior to the examination. Kumar has submitted evidence to the EOU in support of his claims. Amid mounting pressure, demands for the cancellation of the teacher recruitment exam are intensifying. However, the administration is yet to make a definitive decision on the matter.
