Assam Govt to Begin New Academic Session Tomorrow, to Give Free Textbooks to Students

The Assam Education Board is all set to kick off the new academic session in schools across the state on April 1, as per a recent tweet by Assam's State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu.
 

The Assam Education Board is all set to kick off the new academic session in schools across the state on April 1, as per a recent tweet by Assam's State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu. Students will be provided with free textbooks during the first week of April, and the formal classroom teaching process will begin on April 10.

In addition, several education scholarship schemes and fee waivers have been introduced for female candidates in the state. The schemes include tablet distribution, scholarships for girls from minority communities, mobility grants for undergraduate and postgraduate candidates, free books, incentives on mess fees, and fee waiver grants to colleges.

March 30, 2023, marks the birth anniversary of young social reformer Upendra Nath Brahma, and to commemorate the occasion, the first week of April has been designated as Utsaav Vidyarambha as per the Academic Calendar. Upendra Nath Brahma, fondly known as 'Bodofa', was a Bodo community leader and former president of the All Bodo Students' Union.
