Assam Class 12 Pre-Final Exam 2024 in December, Check Subject-wise Marking Scheme

The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has announced the commencement of the Assam Class 12 pre-final exam in December. Schools are instructed to prepare the exam timetable, subject-wise question papers, and supply blank answer scripts. The exam pattern and marking scheme have been outlined, and schools will be responsible for issuing admit cards, evaluating answer scripts, and declaring results.

Assam Class 12 Pre-Final Exam Schedule: The pre-final exams for Class 12 in Assam are scheduled to take place in December. Schools are entrusted with the task of organizing the exams, and the entire process, including admit card distribution and result announcement, will be managed by the respective schools.

Marking Scheme and Subject-wise Breakup: The marking scheme includes a subject-wise breakdown. Subjects with a practical test will have a weightage of 70:30, with 70 marks for theory and 30 marks for practical. The council mentions variations like 30:70, 60:40, and 50:50, depending on the curriculum. Subjects without a practical component will carry a total of 100 marks.

Special Instructions for Certain Subjects: Subjects like accountancy, economics, business studies, finance, sociology, political science, and Swadesh Adhyayan will follow a specific marking pattern. These subjects will allocate 80 marks for theory and 20 marks for project work or internal assessment. Practical exams will be conducted by internal examiners and supporting staff.

Preservation of Answer Scripts: The council emphasizes the preservation of subject-wise marks obtained by students by the examination conducting institutions. This is essential for future reference, as mentioned in the official notification.

Chief Minister's Announcement: In a significant development, Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has declared that starting from the academic year 2024, there will be no state board exams for Class 10 students. The decision aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and matric exams will be conducted at the school level. A new educational board for Assam is also expected to be constituted soon.
