30 government schools will be affiliated with Delhi Board of School Education, read full news
Delhi government is going to make a big start in the field of education. Under this, 30 schools in Delhi will be affiliated to the newly formed Delhi School Education Board (DBSE) in the academic year 2021-22. Along with this, it will also include 20 Schools of Specialized Excellence (SoSE), which will be launched in the city by August 15 for students of classes 9 to 12 interested in various subjects. These will be the first schools to be affiliated under the new board.
Let us inform that this decision has been taken in the general meeting of SoSE and DBSE under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. According to sources, “Out of the 30 schools to be affiliated, 20 are SoSE and 10 are general schools. SoSE will be in the specialized domain from class 9 to 12 while general school will be from nursery to class 8.
20 SoSEs to be launched by 15th August 2021
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said in a statement, “In the first phase, the launch of twenty SOSEs has been approved by August 15, 2021. These schools will be for students from class 9th to 12th who have special aptitude and interest in specific areas of study such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Humanities, Performing and Visual Arts and 21st Century Higher Skills.
In the first phase, out of these 20 SOSEs, eight schools will specialize in STEM, five schools each in the humanities and 21st century higher skills, and two schools in performing and visual arts. In the next session, Specialized Excellence Schools will be set up in every educational sector of Delhi with all the four domains so that children from all parts of Delhi can reach the special schools in their neighbourhood.
Aptitude test to be given for admission in SoSE
The Deputy Chief Minister further said that those seeking admission in SoSE will have to give an aptitude test. An admission process will be announced soon, adding that students at SoSE will have “excellent learning opportunities in their areas of interest”, which will enable them to “get into some of the best universities and institutions in the country and abroad.” will enable.”
