Smita Sabharwal

Smita Sabharwal – Smita was born in 1977. She belongs to Darjeeling, West Bengal. She is an IAS officer of 2001 batch. She has completed her graduation in commerce from St. Francis Degree College, Hyderabad. Smita is known as ‘Peoples Officer’, which is a pride for being a woman to be awarded with this title. She also became the first lady IAS officer to be appointed at Chief Minister’s Office. Her husband Dr. Akun Sabharwal is an IPS Officer.   

Riju Bafna

Riju Bafna – Born and bought up in Chhattisgarh, Riju has done her masters in Economics in 2011 from Delhi School of Economics and graduation from Kirori mal College. She has cleared UPSC Civil Services exam in 2013 with 77th rank and became and IAS Officer in 2014. Before becoming an IAS officer she was working with Cambridge Economic Policy Associates. Riju Belongs to Chhattisgarh. Last year she got married to her batch mate Avi Prasad who is also a IAS officer.

Merin Joseph

Merin Joseph – The youngest IPS Officer in the Kerala Cadre, cleared the UPSC exam in the year 2012 at the age of 25. She has passed UPSC exam in the year 2012 in her first attempt. Merin was born and bought up in Delhi and completed her BA and MA from St. Stephen’s College. Her father is a Principal Advisor in the Ministry of Agriculture and her mother is an Economics teacher. Merin was selected to lead the Indian delegation for the Y20 summit, which is an official youth programme of the G20 countries. In 2015 she got married to a Kottyam based psychiatrist Chris Abraham.

Kanchan Choudhary Bhattacharya

Kanchan Chaudhary Bhattacharya – Kanchan was an IPS officer from 1973-2007. She was the 1st female IPS Officer to become the Director General of Police. She belongs to Himachal Pradesh and completed her post-graduation in English Literature from Indraprastha College, Delhi. This lady was awarded the President’s medal and Rajiv Gandhi Award for being an outstanding achiever. Recently, Kanchan has joined AAP after winning general election of 2014 from Haridwar.

Meera Borwankar

Meera Borwankar – Meera is an IPS officer from 1981 batch. She belongs to Punjabi family and her father was in BSF. She has completed her graduation form Jalandhar. She is first female IPS officer in Maharashtra Cadre from Fazika, Punjab.  She is also know as ‘Lady Supercop’. She came in limelight for arresting the gang members of Daud Ibrahim and Chota Rajan. She also arrested a sex scandal in 1994 at Jalgaon. The Bollywood movie ‘Mardani’ is also based on her career life.   

Sanjukta Parashar

Sanjukta Parashar – Born on 3rd October 1979, Sanjukta is an IPS officer from 2006 batch. Born and bought up in Assam but she has completed her graduation in Political Science from the Indraprastha College, New Delhi. She is first IPS officer from Assam and has fought against the Bodo militants of Assam. Currently, she is posted as superintendent of Police at Sonitpur. She is married to Puru Gupta who is an IAS officer.

Roshan Jacob

Roshan Jacob – Roshan belongs to Kerala, she was born on 25th December 1978. She has cleared UPSC exam in the year 2004. Presently, she is district magistrate of Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh.  

Vandana Preyasi

Vandana Preyasi – An IAS from 2003 batch, Vandana has done her college from St. Stephen’s, Delhi. She is a district magistrate of Siwan, Bihar. This lady is known for being a no-nonsense and bold. She was born on 21st February 1974 in Bihar. She is a great inspiration for all the females of Bihar. She is a lady who stood up against the crimes taking place in Bihar.  

Vimla Mehra

Vimla Mehra – She is the first woman to attain the post of Special Commissioner Police of country. Vimla is an IPS Officer from 1978 batch in Arunachal, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories cadre. She is the second officer after Kiran Bedi who headed Tihar Jail as Director General in the year 2012. She is the one who launched a helpline number 1091 for women, she also promoted self defence programmes for women.

B. Chandrakala

B. Chandrakala – Chandrakala was born on 27th September 1979 in Andhra Pradesh. She is an IAS officer from 2008 batch of UP Cadre. She secured 409th rank in the civil services exam. She is currently serving as District Magistrate of Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. Chandrakala belongs to a tribe family. She has completed her graduation in BA from Koti Women’s college in Hyderabad.
