Important Announcement for UP TET Aspirants

Candidates preparing for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) in Uttar Pradesh have received significant news. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) is gearing up to organize the UP TET 2027, with plans to conduct the exam in February 2027. This information was recently shared with the Allahabad High Court, where the UPESSC also indicated intentions to hold the UP TET biannually in the future.

Proposed Schedule for UP TET 2027

During a court hearing, a division bench of the Allahabad High Court requested the UPESSC to outline a tentative schedule for the UP TET. In response, the UPESSC has proposed that the examination take place in the last week of February, with results expected to be announced by May.

TGT Candidates Have Until June 30 to Apply

Currently, the application process for Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) positions in Uttar Pradesh is ongoing. For the 2026 TGT recruitment, the UPESSC has granted a conditional exemption to candidates who have not yet passed the TET. These individuals can apply for the 2026 TGT recruitment and take the exam, but they must clear the TET by June 30, 2027. Therefore, the upcoming UP TET 2027 is particularly important for these candidates.

Plans for Biannual UP TET Examinations

The UPESSC is actively working on a strategy to conduct the UP TET twice a year, aiming for examinations in July and January of each academic year. This initiative aligns with the guidelines from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), which recommends conducting the TET biannually. It is noteworthy that since 2011, Uttar Pradesh has not held the TET more than once in a year.
