Exam Structure and Marking Scheme

The TNPSC Group – I Services exam consists of two stages:

  • Preliminary Examination: To select candidates for the Main Examination.
  • Main Examination: Written and Interview stages for final selection.

Examination Details

  • Sections: General Studies (Degree Standard) and Aptitude & Mental Ability Test (SSLC Standard).
  • Total Marks: 300 marks
  • Number of Questions: 200 (175 from General Studies and 25 from Aptitude & Mental Ability Test).
  • Qualifying Marks: 90 marks for STs, SCs, SC(A)s, BC(OBCM)s, MBCs/DCs, and BCMs; 120 marks for others.
