Important Update on NEET-UG 2026

A significant update has emerged regarding the NEET-UG 2026, the largest medical entrance examination in the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has allocated exam cities for the re-examination scheduled on June 21. Candidates who registered for the exam can now check their city allocation slips online. This initiative aims to finalize preparations for the examination, allowing millions of students to access information about their exam locations and enhance their preparation.

Details on Exam City Allocation

On Sunday, the NTA completed the process of allocating exam cities. Candidates can log in to the official portal using their application number and password to download their city information slip. This document indicates the city where the exam will take place, although it does not provide the complete address of the exam center. The agency stated that this information is crucial for candidates to plan their travel and other necessary arrangements in advance. Many students may need to travel to different cities for the exam, making this information particularly important.

City Information Slip vs. Admit Card

The NTA clarified that the city information slip should not be mistaken for an admit card. It serves solely to inform candidates about their exam city. The actual admit card will be issued separately, containing the complete address of the exam center, reporting time, and other essential instructions. Candidates are advised to rely only on official communications and regularly check the website for any updates related to the exam.

Exam Scheduled Across 551 Indian and 14 Foreign Cities

The re-examination will take place on June 21 from 2 PM to 5:15 PM in a pen-and-paper format. According to the NTA, the exam will be conducted in 551 cities across India and 14 cities abroad. Given the extensive nature of the examination, the agency claims to have strengthened its arrangements. Efforts have been made to provide students with their preferred exam cities, allowing many candidates to take the exam closer to their home regions.

Re-Exam Following Paper Leak Controversy

The original NEET-UG 2026 was scheduled for May 3 but was canceled due to allegations of a question paper leak. This incident sparked widespread debate across the country and raised concerns about the future of millions of students. Currently, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the matter. Meanwhile, the NTA is focused on preparing for the re-examination to ensure it is conducted fairly and transparently. Students are now eagerly awaiting the release of the admit cards and the successful conduct of the exam.
